The Toucan and the search for the frooty booty
Chemistry Explained:
Unfortunately, our video doesn't do the best job explaining the four chemical reactions.we had shown in the video. Our four reactions were:
- Isopropyl Alcohol and Fire
- Ooblek
- Baking Soda and Vinegar
- Flammable Bubbles
Isopropyl Alcohol and Fire: In in the burning city scene in the beginning of the film. We started by placing a half-circle line of the isopropyl alcohol around of front side of the city. We then took a lighter and ignited the alcohol line on the table. The isopropyl alcohol (C3H8O) reacts to the fire and ignites, giving off CO2 and H2O in the process.
Ooblek: As a non-newtonium fluid, ooblek is a solid at when exposed to high amounts of pressure and a liquid when put under low amounts of pressure. Our ooblek was made from mixture of corn starch, water, and food dye for color. Unlike the other chemistry
